Major Update (4/17/2025)
This update comes with two major changes.
Stress Meter Rework
Prior to this update, the Stress Meter's amount was determined by the number of enemies and fields on the map, either currently or soon to be (as in, they're queued up for next turn). It also effected player passive skills, which would be activated once the meter's max was met or exceeded and whose activation chances were largely based on how far the Stress Meter's max has been exceeded. I didn't like either of these things because it meant the player was encouraged to wait for enough commands to fill the Stress Meter beyond max to unlock their passives, and because relying on luck so hard makes the game less interesting.
Now, the Stress Meter fills at the start of each player turn and is filled based on the commands that got executed at the start of that turn. Player skills have also been reworked to act as commands that cost Stress to use, making the Stress Meter a finite, consumable resource.
This has had the side effect of making the player very strong when playing against a small group of opponents, so I've adjusted the cool down timer accordingly to allow opponents to be a lot more active in spawning enemies and fields.
Offline Mode (AKA One Player Mode)
You no longer need friends to play this game! By choosing "Play (Offline)", you will be pitted against an AI that randomly selects commands. While the AI isn't very strategic, it's able to execute commands extremely fast! It's a sufficiently chaotic experience and - interestingly enough - feels fairly different from playing online. I ran through it before releasing this update and had a pretty good time.
I'm hoping these new updates will draw more people to the game. Until next time!
